Originally Known as Katie Vogel, Katie Waissel (Born 27 January 1986) Is an English Singer-Songwriter Who Came to Prominence After Placing Seventh in the Seventh Season of the X Factor in 2007. She Was Initially Criticised for Being Selected for the Live Shows Despite Stumbling Through Her Song at the Judge’s House Twice, and Later for Progressing Further in the Competition Than Fan Favourites Aiden Grimshaw and Gamu Nhengu. She Is Now Considered One of the Most Controversial Contestants in the Show’s History. Following X Factor, Waissel Pursued a Solo Career for a Brief Period of Time, Releasing Her First Album in 2011. She Now Serves as the Main Vocalist for the Rock Band Red Velvet.
